The Compound Interest
I love it when I’m outdoors being productive on the weekends in contrast to the occasional sitting in front of the laptop, browsing through iTunes movie trailers and photography blogs.
A well spent, cultured Saturday that started with heading to the Broadsheet Cafe for a caffeine fix. The collaborative project featured Melbourne’s six coffee connoissieurs: Five Senses, Dead Man Espresso, Market Lane, Seven Seeds, Proud Mary & The Premises, all showcasing their own unique roasts and tastes. The pop-up cafe was opened only for 11 days in conjunction with the annual Food & Wine Festival.
We then headed for lunch around the corner at Pellegrini’s. I felt like I travelled through a time portal into the 50’s where patrons dine at the counter on matching brown leather cushioned-stools, surrounded by black&white checkered floor. The watermelon granita is a must for a refreshing quench, accompanied with a large portion of pasta/risotto of your choice :)
What followed was a meeting with Todd Selby, a renowned interior&fashion photographer in the celebrity circle, at his book launch: “The Selby Is In Your Place”. There was a small presentation of his work - Karl Lagerfeld’s studio, homes of Helena Christensen in NY and Pierre Hermé in Paris just to name a few! - accompanied by a Q&A session for his fellow home fetishists.
